Bahir Dar University awarded a USAID grant

Disaster risk management and Food Security Studies of Bahir Dar University is awarded the U.S. government grant, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). According to Dr Tesfaye Shiferaw, Vice Director for Research and Community Services of BDU, the project which won the grant is going to be implemented for five years and will be coordinated by Disaster risk management and Food Security Studies of Bahir Dar University. In the five years span of the project, 150 students will be enrolled every two years for training by the project; the selection of which will be made based on preset criteria, and a total of 750 students will be trained in the life of the project. The project is planned to be implemented in all regions in Ethiopia through some selected universities.
