Students from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Take Part in the Founders Lab 2026 Workshop
Ten students from the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Bahir Dar University, took part in the Founders Lab 2026 workshop held from October 26 to 30, 2026, at Ramada Addis in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The workshop was organized under the SCEFAB Project.
The workshop brought together 30 students: ten from Bahir Dar University (BDU), ten from Hochschule Neu-Ulm (HNU), Germany, and ten from Université Gaston Berger (UGB), Senegal. It aimed to give students hands-on exposure to entrepreneurship and the circular economy.
Working in mixed international teams, the students developed innovative business models and received expert input and coaching from lecturers of the three partner universities.
Over five days, the programme covered:
- An introduction to circular economy and case studies
- Business model design and problem definition
- Group work on idea generation, market fit, and impact
- Prototyping, pitch training, and final pitching
Bahir Dar University thanks everyone who supported the students’ selection, orientation, and travel arrangements, and appreciates the SCEFAB Project and partner universities for making the workshop a success.
