Program Description:

Master of Science in Control Systems concentrates on the principles, theory and algorithms that underpin the control of dynamical systems. The researchers of the program are expected to design a control system for the application of the real-world problems specialized on nonlinear control, robotics control, logic-based control and interconnected dynamical systems.

The Objective of Graduate Program is to provide broad-based education and training in industrial control engineering and its applications leading to a Master of Science Degree in Engineering. The specific training objectives can be summarized as follows;

To produce Graduates with full professional competence in different fields of Control system and automation engineering who can participate in the national development activities and to this end;
To train manpower for higher education institutions of the country;
To meet the demands of the industries in terms of training and up grading their engineers and managers.
To provide opportunity for the working community in the field of control system.
To carry out research in the areas of advanced & intelligent control systems that are relevant to the needs of the country.
To engage students in high level research through thesis that offers optimal solutions to technical problems in industry sectors.

Admission criteria:

In addition to the requirements set by the School of Graduate Studies, Candidates must havesuccessfully completed the academic requirements of Bachelor degree in Electrical & ComputerEngineering (Control system Engineering, Industrial Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering,Power and Control Engineering) and related areas.
International applicants should satisfy the English language proficiency set by the institute.
Applicants should pass both the entrance exam NGAT set by the Ministry of education and the academic entrance exam prepared by the chair unit.

English Language Competency Requirements

Effective written and oral communication is vital for a successful academic career. Candidates who enroll in the MSc. program must take any recommended English courses based on the MSc. admitting Examination and the interview result. In addition, if a student's advisor believes that his or her technical writing ability needs improvement, the student may be required to take remedial course/s. foreign applicants, whose undergraduate medium of instruction is not English must submit results of IELTS/TOEFL or equivalent, language proficiency examinations as per BDU MSc.guidelines.

Duration of the program

The duration of study for Post Graduate Degree in regular program will be two complete Academic Years, out of which the last semester will be exclusively allotted to the Thesis/Research Work. For summer program it will be four summers (four years). For Extension program it will be two years including summer semester.
