Dr. Damtew Woldemariam is a medical doctor with a specialization in pediatrics and child health from Addis Ababa University and obtained an M.Sc. in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, with over three decades of clinical, public health, and leadership experience accumulated through working in public, UN, and international NGO sectors.

Dr. Esmael Habtamu is a public eye health academic and clinical trialist with research interests in trachoma elimination, primary eye care, and health systems strengthening in low-income settings. He is an assistant professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK; co-founder and executive director of Eyu-Ethiopia, a national non-governmental organization engaged in eye health research, training, and service delivery; and an adjunct assistant professor at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia.
