Laboratory-based research is largely practiced in the College of Science. The College aims to provide students with opportunities to participate in practical laboratory experiments, which could close the gap between theoretical ideas and how they might be applied in daily life. The College comprises seven departments, and the majority of them have their own lab spaces that are only partially equipped with equipment and chemicals. Every year, each department often looks to buy new equipment and chemicals. However, ordering chemicals that were already on hand, placing duplicate orders, and other issues led to resource waste. Additionally, there are issues with the proper usage of instruments at the college level. The college created a laborator manager position to reduce such resource waste and improve research and teaching laboratories. At the college level, the laboratory manager office is working diligently to promote an effective resource management and a collaborative working atmosphere.
