Brief Biography: Melkamu has completed two Master Degrees: Master of Science Degree in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (Geoinformatics) from University of Twente, The Netherlands and Master of Science Degree in Mathematics from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He has a solid knowledge and expertise in Remote Sensing, Geo-Information Science, Spatial Data Modeling, Applied Mathematics, Geostatistics and basic programming skills (R, Python). His experience and research interests are centered on the application of remote sensing, geospatial and geostatistical techniques on resource mapping, hydro-climatic extremes such as droughts and floods in support of risk management in natural resources. Moreover, He has deep rooted research interest on the application of data mining techniques, particularly in the areas of hydrology, climate change and vegetation dynamics.
Research Interest: Remote sensing and machine learning technologies; hydrological and climate sciences.
