SUMMARY
Dr. Asaminew Tassew holds a PhD degree in Animal Production (2015) from BOKU–University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria, an MSc degree (2007) in Animal Production from Haramaya University in Ethiopia, a BSc degree (2002) in Animal Production and Range Land Management, from Debub University (now Hawassa University) in Ethiopia, an International Diploma (2009) in Dairy Husbandry and Milk Processing: Specialization in Training and Extension, PTC+, the Netherlands and a Higher Diploma in Teaching (2021) from Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia. He is currently an Associate Professor at Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Bahir Dar University, where he has worked since August 2018. Dr. Asaminew’s various duties and responsibilities include teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students, coordinating research, community engagement, technology transfer, and consultancy projects, Animal Production Group, Chair, Animal Production (specialization in Dairy Science & Technology or Meat Science & Technology or Poultry Science & Technology)  PhD program coordinator, Graduate programs curricula review; internal and external theses and dissertations examiner, member among others. He has mentored 33 MSc and 5 PhD students. He has contributed 55 peer-reviewed journal articles, 14 proceedings, and 20 book chapter, research reports, and teaching/training materials to the scientific literature. He has worked as a managing editor for Journal of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Bahir Dar University and he has also served as manuscript reviewers for different journals including the Iranian Journal of Applied Animal Science (IJAS), the Journal of Ecology and Evolution, the Ethiopian Journal of Science and Technology, and the Journal of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. He has administrative experience as well, and he is currently the Dean of the Natural Science Stream at Bahir Dar University's School of Graduate Studies. Dr. Asaminew is self-motivated, a great team member, and has worked tirelessly to uphold the tenets of the Department and the University as a whole.

·         Currently working as instructor and researcher at Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Bahir Dar University and have a good working atmosphere with students, academic and administrative staff. I have positive attitude and always eager to learn from colleagues and welcome to accept peoples comments or suggestions.
 
2. Organizational skills and competences
·         Good experience to undertake on-farm, on-station and participatory research.
·         Implemented different animal production research and development projects.
·         Good experience in research problems identifications.
·         Good experience in organizing seminars, lectures and writing scientific papers.

·         Very good command of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint).
·         Good experience of using internet for communications and search of research results.
·         Good experiences in using statistical software such as SAS, R, SPSS, STELLA and ATLAS-ti.
