The16th UKFIET Conference took place 13-17 September/2021 with the theme of: "BUILDING BACK BETTER IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING? REIMAGINING, REORIENTING AND REDISTRIBUTING". The UEA Unesco Chair team from the 5 countries run a whole session that lasts for an hour and half on the sub-theme of the UKFIET-2021 conference: "Reimagining Learning Spaces". Specifically, our team had a session entitled "Reimagining family literacy: exploring intergenerational learning in indigenous and local spaces". On this, the BDU - Ethiopia team (along with the Malawi, Nepal, Philippines and UK teams) presented a quickfire presentation, and took part in the online world café discussion format where conference participants related the research findings presented to them to their own contexts and discussed on related issues. There was active participation and discussion by the attendees. On this conference, the team presented some parts of the findings of the UKRI-funded "Family literacy, indigenous learning and sustainable development: Proof of concept pilot" research project.
