The School of Veterinary Medicine at Bahir Dar University is hosting its 1st Annual National Research Conference from May 2–3, 2026.

The School of Veterinary Medicine at Bahir Dar University has officially launched the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare (UFAW) LINK Program, led by Dr. Dagmawi Yitbarek, to integrate scientific animal welfare standards into the university's academic and research frameworks.

In collaboration with Brooke Ethiopia and four leading universities, Bahir Dar University’s School of Veterinary Medicine participated in a strategic mission to advance animal health management and share best practices in equine care.

Representing Bahir Dar University, Dr. Yeshwas Ferede Alemu co-authored Ethiopia’s first National Laboratory Animal Use and Care Guideline, a landmark framework launched at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute to standardize ethical research practices and animal welfare nationwide.

The School of Veterinary Medicine at Bahir Dar University successfully conducted a faculty training on “Systematic Review and Meta-analysis” from February 26 to March 02, 2026, to enhance evidence-based research capabilities and promote impactful scientific publications.
