SVM Hosts Training on Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

(Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, 02 March, 2026) - The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) at Bahir Dar University successfully conducted an intensive faculty training on “Systematic Review and Meta-analysis” from February 26 to March 02, 2026. This initiative was designed to enhance the evidence-based research capabilities of the school’s academic staff.
The sessions were led by a multidisciplinary team of experts, featuring Dr. Simachew Getaneh from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Mr. Melkamu Ayana from the Department of Statistics. By combining clinical veterinary expertise with statistical methodology, the trainers provided faculty members with the essential tools to synthesize data and produce high-impact research publications.
The training concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Andnet Yirga, Head of the Department of Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health. Dr. Andnet engaged with participants to evaluate the training’s effectiveness, identify specific gaps, and gather faculty input on how to tailor future sessions. He also briefed participants on the upcoming schedule for future capacity-building trainings, signaling a continued investment in the faculty’s professional growth.
