SVM Completes Annual Review of Research Project Proposals

(Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, 5-6 February 2026) - The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) at Bahir Dar University marked a significant milestone in its academic calendar with the successful completion of the Annual Research Project Proposal Review. The two-day event provided a structured forum for expert evaluation of proposed research, focusing on scientific merit, feasibility, innovation potential, and relevance to animal health and community needs in Ethiopia.
The review showcased the breadth of the School’s research capabilities, with 12 research projects undergoing rigorous evaluation. Demonstrating a clear commitment to an inclusive and impactful research agenda, the portfolio included: 7 Thematic Projects, 3 Young Researchers’ Projects, 1 Women-Led Project, and 1 Technology Transfer Project.
Engaging discussions among faculty, internal reviewers, and proposers offered constructive feedback on scientific rigor, feasibility, and alignment, helping refine proposals and guiding the School’s future research directions
