Wasihun Abate Sentie is an accomplished academic and sports professional with a BSc in Sport Science, MEd in Teaching Physical Education and MSc in Sport Management and Policy Development. He currently serves as a lecturer at the Bahir Dar University Sport Academy in Ethiopia. His career in teaching began as a Physical Education teacher in Addis Ababa before transitioning to university-level instruction at Arba Minch University and later Bahir Dar University.
Wasihun has contributed significantly to sports education through his research, with publications on topics such as gender participation in extracurricular sports, injury patterns among mass sports participants, and challenges in handball coaching. He has also co-authored a book on handball.
In addition to his academic roles, Wasihun is an experienced handball coach, having led various teams in Addis Ababa to several victories. He holds advanced coaching and refereeing licenses in handball and football and has been recognized for his excellence in coaching, receiving multiple awards from the Addis Ababa Handball Federation.
His academic and coaching expertise is further demonstrated by his participation in national and international conferences, where he has presented his research on sports medicine and injury prevention.
