Melese Fentahun (M.Sc.), born in 1983 in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Hawassa University in 2005 and an M.Sc. in Economic Policy Analysis from Arba Minch University in 2011. After his undergraduate studies, he worked at Bahir Edile Oil Share Company and briefly at the ANRS Management Institute as a junior researcher and consultant, where he conducted training on various topics such as strategic planning and performance management. This experience led him to join Wollo University as a lecturer in 2006.
He has lectured at Wollo University (2006-2011), Debre Markos University (2014-2018), and currently at Bahir Dar University since 2018, contributing to research and community service. At Debre Markos, he was part of a research team and served as Head of Real Property Valuation Department at ILA-BDU, providing outreach training on entrepreneurship and strategic planning. His professional development includes training in entrepreneurship, impact evaluation, HDP, research ethics review & SOP development, strategic planning, time management, BPR, and computer training, enhancing his effectiveness. His research interests focus on development economics: micro and macro aspect, land economics, climate change, and real property valuation, exploring topics like urban and rural finance and employment, rural land management and urban development mechanisms.
