Prof. Tadesse Amsalu Birhanu (Ph.D.) is a Professor of Land Policy and Natural Resources Management at the Institute of Land Administration, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. With an extensive academic background in agriculture, forestry, and land management. His research focuses on critical areas such as land policy, land tenure, land administration, and natural resource management. Professor Tadesse has authored numerous scientific papers on a variety of topics, including land use and land cover dynamics within the context of land tenure and property rights, decentralized rural land administration in Ethiopia, rural landlessness and poverty, wetland conservation and management policies, and the food-energy-environment nexus. His research also addresses issues related to farm land fragmentation and rural land laws, rural cadastre systems, and land tenure security. His current and future research aims to unravel the nexus between land policy and rural and urban development and governance of natural resources. In addition to his research interventions, Professor Tadesse is a dedicated educator and advisor, mentoring M.Sc. students in Land Administration and Management and Ph.D. candidates in Land Policy and Governance. He also serves as the Coordinator of the Ethiopian Land Research and Development Network (ETHIOLANDNET), a platform established at the Institute of Land Administration to promote land-related research and facilitate the dissemination of research findings.
