Yirsaw Zegeye Getie (M.Sc.) is working as lecturer since Dec.  2014  in Bahir Dar University at the Institute of Land Administration, Department of Architecture. He is teaching  urban land use planning and land development and management  courses in the Land Administration and Surveying department, and  urban planning I  & II;  Urban design I  & II ; urban housing and environmental planning  in the department of architecture. Additionally, he worked  as course chair, mentor and architecture department head;  Plus to this he has participated in different  research and community services.
He also worked as an Urban planner & Designer expert from June 2008 to Nov., 2014  in Amhara Regional State Work and Urban Development Bureau, Regional Urban planning Institute (RUPI), as Urban Planning Expert. He participated in more than thirty urban master plan projects and he served as team leader in seven different cities and towns master plan preparation activities with in Amhara Region. 

Furthermore, from October 2007  to June 2008 he worked as Urban land administration team leader in Debre Birhan City Administration
