ICT4D Research Center
Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) Research Center is one of the research centers in Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University, established in 2016.
The aim of the center is to foster the development of the nation by conducting research and developing ICT-related projects. The center brings together researchers and professionals working on innovative ICT solutions with practical impact on society and the economy.
The ICT4D Research Center incorporates five major research groups: e-Service, Intelligent Systems, Wireless and Mobile Communication, Natural Language Processing, and Privacy and Security.
The research center also has a training coordinator responsible for facilitating various training programs delivered in collaboration with national and international companies.
ICT4D Research Center has successfully conducted three international conferences named the International Conference on ICT for Development Africa (ICT4DA). Accepted papers have been published through Springer and IEEE.
In addition, the center has undertaken community services, seminars, training programs, technology-transfer activities, and consultancy services.

Conducting Applied Research
The center conducts high-quality applied research with impact on society and the market. Research demonstrates the practical value of ICT through the creation of systems, experimental validation, industrial applications, and social impact.

International Annual Conference
The research center organizes the International Conference on ICT for Development Africa (ICT4DA). Three conferences have been successfully organized: ICT4DA2017, ICT4DA2019, and ICT4DA2021.

Provide Trainings
Various training programs are provided in collaboration with national and international organizations. The center also works toward establishing an international examination center and training laboratory.
