The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) at Bahir Dar University successfully conducted its 13th International Social Sciences Annual Conference from June 5–6, 2026, in collaboration with ReDSS, UNDP, Plan International, and DPFSCC. Held under the theme “Conflict, Social Crisis, and the Pursuit of Peaceful Transformation in Ethiopia: Gender, Displacement and Community Resilience,” the conference brought together academics, development partners, government representatives, and civil society organizations. The two-day event combined academic research presentations with policy dialogue on conflict, displacement, community resilience, peacebuilding, and durable solutions. Through keynote addresses, research presentations, stakeholder reports, and panel discussions, participants explored practical strategies for addressing Ethiopia’s humanitarian and social challenges. The faculty extends its appreciation to all partners and participants for contributing to the success of the conference.
