In addition, it deals with the design of water infrastructures for various uses such as irrigation and hydropower engineering. |
Engineering Hydrology Chair Temesgen Enku (PhD)
| Engineering Hydrology chair is one of the seven chairs in the Faculty of Civil and Water Resources Engineering of Bahir Dar Institute of Technology. In general both civil and water resources and environmental engineering programs are all about people that give us quality of life. Hence they must deal with water. Besides, understanding the fact that freshwater water resource is indispensable finite natural resources it has to be assessed and managed properly. With due consideration of these facts and principles, courses that leads the students to acquire the required knowledge and skill in assessing and managing water resources are identified and incorporated in both civil and water resources and environmental engineering programs. Hydrology chair is therefore established to effectively manage and administer courses and staff related to the chair. |
Road and Transport Engineering Chair Mr. Tesfahun Nigatu | Road and Transport Engineering Chair is established to be an excellent academic unit in the field of Road and Transportation Engineering under FCWRE. The chair administers and facilitates the courses to be delivered for undergraduate civil engineering and graduate Road and Transport Engineering programs. Numerous consultancy services are provided through the chair in the road and transport engineering specified areas to the community at large. The stream in general is aimed at providing optimal and practical oriented engineering solutions in the planning, designing, construction and management of road infrastructures as well as road safety and traffic engineering management. The stream also affords surveying data collection analysis and setting out works for design and construction of civil, water and other infrastructures
