The Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology is striving for quality education, problem-solving research, technology transfer and community service activities and beyond with its 60-plus years of experience. The office of the deputy scientific director of the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology is under the scientific director's office to manage activities in regards to teaching-learning, research and versatile dissemination activities. The office is organized as a pivotal centre for providing excellent academic and research discourses in the allied programs and centres of the institute. With a vision to become the centre of excellence in the continent in the fields of specialization, the core strategy of the office is to bring excellence in teaching-learning, research and dissemination activities at large.

The deputy scientific director's office addresses the departments, offices and deans/directors on a regular basis based on scheduled discussion forums to address routine activities and strategic cores in line with the vision and mission of the institute. Customer-oriented activities are detailed and strategies towards improvement and betterment of the institute are evaluated on a frequent and regular basis.
