BDU hosts World Teachers’ Day festival

BDU:The University’s Teachers’ Association in collaboration with the National Teachers’ Association has recently organized World Teachers’ annual Day here at the Main campus.While welcoming participants, BDU’s Teachers' Association Chairperson Belayneh Ketsela explained that the objective of the annual day celebration was to discuss on ways of maximizing teachers’ role towards quality education efforts and to improve teachers’ engagement in research and community services.
During the function, seventeen papers were presented to participants. Participants were drawn from Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Education, UNESCO, Universities, Regional Education Bureaus and members of National Teachers’ Association as well as interested staffs of Bahir Dar University.
Also presents were BDU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr.Firew Tegegne, Ethiopian Teachers’ Association President Yohannes Benti, The Amhara National Regional State Deputy Administrator and Education Bureau Head Binalif Andualem. The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization’s theme for this year’s celebration is Take a stand for Teachers.
