BDU jointly with other two Ethiopian Universities wins LMEU Project.

Bahir Dar University, Addis Ababa University and Mekelle University have been identified as the three partner universities by the LEMU project after an extensive need analysis in Ethiopian higher education system.  The project is aimed at Building Institutional Capacity in Leadership and Management of Ethiopian Universities. In order to achieve this objective the project has identified three major areas;

  • Education Management and Leadership (HEML) by opening joint PhD programme in higher education leadership and management
  • Disseminating the expertise in HE Leadership and Management to the higher education institutions and departments by strengthening professional training in higher education leadership and management.
  • Supporting the development of African Network of Centres for Higher Education Research and Development (ANCHERD) in Ethiopia, South-Africa and Uganda to strengthen the research and development capacity in field of the leadership and management of higher education.

The project will be financed by the government of Finland from March 1, 2017- March 30 2020.
