Description of the Program:

The masters program is designed to train qualified persons in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution. It aimed to trained human resource requirements of the country is based on both course work and research. Its expected duration is two years.The program is designed in such a way as to enable students acquire in-depth understanding of the international and national construction and dispute resolution regimes.

The program is expected to widen the students’ understanding of theoretical background and legal framework of Construction and Dispute Resolution. This program will also enable the students to obtain advanced instructions in the fields of construction and dispute resolution. It is expected to equip them with the requisite knowledge and skill that will enable them to research and find out problems and indicate possible solutions in the field of Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.

Students admitted to the program are required to take and pass ten courses and prepare a thesis. The students who full fill all the requirement of the program will be awarded the Degree of Master of Laws in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.

Eligibility criteria:

In addition to meeting the general admission provisions of the graduate program of Bahir Dar University, applicants to the Master of Laws in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.

Law program must:

-  Have an undergraduate degree in law from any accredited institute of higher learning.

-A passing score on the program entrance exam, as set by the School;

-  Submission of the required number of official transcripts of academic record, which must be sent directly to the BDU Registrar’s Office by the issuing institution;

-  Submission of application form to the BDU Registrar’s Office;

-  Presenting a letter of sponsorship from financial supporter, if any;

-  Payment of the university application fee/submitting sponsorship letter from his/her organization,

-  Other requirement set by the University Senate Legislation
