Bahir Dar University become the only university in Ethiopia only next to Addis Ababa University to be included in the list of the most prolific institutions in educational research, according to the University of Cambridge report on education research in sub-Sahara Africa. Also, BDU is in the list of the top 20 most prolific African institutions by phase of education.
