College of Medicine and Health Sciences holds Student Forum.

June 3,2022, Bahir Dar): Bahir Dar University College of Medicine and Health Sciences has held Student Forum.

The aim of the forum was to give the students an opportunity to provide feedback on the major functions and related supportive services of the college such as teaching-learning, clinical practices, library, and other student services.

The forum was organized by Quality Assurance and Institutional Transformation Directorate in collaboration with the schools.

In the discussion with School of Health Sciences students, Dr. Nebiyu Shitaye, Director, Quality Assurance and Institutional Transformation, Dr. Ashagrie Molla, Coordinator, AcademicSciences Quality Assurance, Mr. Yaregal Asires, Vice dean of School of Health and Minychil Birhanu, School level academic quality assurance coordinator attended and facilitated the discussion.

The discussion started off with a welcome speech of Dr. Nebiyu Shitaye and in his speech, he noted that the discussion with the students would help the college discern and consider things that need improving in the year to come.

Similarly, discussion with students of School of Medicine was led by Dr. Nebiyu Shitaye and co-facilitated by Dr. Bekalu Wubshet, Dean of School of Medicine, Mrs. Almaz Mamaru, Director of Gender office and Dr. Ashagre Molla.

The discussion with students of School of Public Health was chaired and facilitated by Dr. Alemtsehay Mekonen, Dean of the school, Dr. Mulusew Andualem, Director of Research and Development and Dr. Ashagre Molla. Mrs. Almaz Mamaru and Mr. Tilahun Belete, Director of Community Based Education and Services also attended the discussion forum and addressed matters related to their respective office.

At the forum, the students raised they deem worth discussing. They brought up issues and their feelings on the various services of the college that play tremendous roles in the teaching-learning practices.

It was a great opportunity to garner insightful lessons from the students and helped the college to establish a fairly shared vision with the studentsThe on the necessity of placing priority areas at the center of teaching-and learning and clinical practices. students were also called for their strong engagement with the ongoing efforts the college is making to improve the quality of education and clinical services provisions.
